Tekeyan Chapters in the US and Canada

Tekeyan has a number of active chapters in the United States and Canada. Information will be added about each chapter as this website, a work in progress, is developed further.

Montreal

The Montreal chapter was established in 1965 to foster the cultural needs of the ever-growing Armenian community of Montreal in theater, fine arts, literature, traditional dance, youth summer camp, and social activities. It operates from the Tekeyan Center, located in the city of Saint-Laurent, Montreal. The Montreal chapter publishes Abaka, a weekly newspaper which has an internet version.

Vancouver

The beautiful city of Vancouver in British Columbia has an active Tekeyan chapter.

 

United States of America

The greater Boston chapter of Tekeyan has its center in the historic Baikar Building in Watertown, Massachusetts.

 

Midwest

Detroit

Detroit’s Tekeyan chapter is well established and active locally. It participates in hosting North American Tekeyan sponsored visits of cultural groups and supports TCA programs like the Sponsor a Teacher project in Armenia and Artsakh.

New York & New Jersey

The great metropolis of New York is the headquarters of many Armenian organizations and the United Nations. The Tekeyan Cultural Association Greater New York Chapter organizes events throughout the New York and New Jersey area. It has its own center in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey.

 

Southern California

Metro Los Angeles

The newest of the three Tekeyan chapters in Los Angeles is the Tekeyan Cultural Association Metro Los Angeles Chapter. Formed in 2018, its membership falls in a younger demographic. Metro LA has been very active, organizing Armenian comedy nights, concerts and lectures.

Pasadena-Glendale

The Tekeyan Cultural Association Beshgeturian Center in Altadena, California, is the seat of the activities of the TCA Pasadena-Glendale Chapter.

Los Angeles

The oldest Tekeyan chapter in greater Los Angeles is simply called the TCA Los Angeles Chapter. It has a venerable history and often holds events in Glendale.
